About our Club:
Kings Langley Bowls Club was founded back in 1925 and after a lot of hard work we now have one of the best greens in Hertfordshire.
We still use a contractor to do the heavy work at the start and end of each season and also to carry out any chemical treatment that is required on the green. With a team of helpers, we do the day to day work of cutting the green and are able to carry out tining, spiking and all the other work necessary to keep the green in good condition. We have recently purchased a “green iron” and hope that this will help to increase the speed of the bowls and also will help to decrease the small bumps that tend to occur on most greens.

We have a great clubhouse and we run various social functions throughout the year such as quiz nights, whist drives, etc. We have a fully stocked bar which is run by our bar manager Eric Hatch and the prices alone make it worthwhile joining the club if you enjoy a social drink with your friends.

We are a mixed club and enjoy a good selection of matches against various other clubs in the area.
The current men’s Captain is Rae Knights and the Ladies Captain is Irene Turtle.
The green is open daily from 11.00 am for those members who wish to practise or enjoy a game with other members. The current annual subscription is £100.00 which includes all match fees and food provided at matches. There are no other charges for playing. We have our own kitchen and food is prepared for club matches by our own members on a rota basis during the playing season which is from May to the end of September.
During the winter months for those members who prefer to play “Short Mat Bowls” we do have 2 rinks which are used on Mondays and Fridays from 11.00 am to 13.00 pm and on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 14.00 to 16.00 pm. There is a small charge for the use of these rinks and Eric Hatch is usually in charge of this.
We do have a Boules rink at the rear of the clubhouse and this is available to members at no extra cost. Boules equipment is available at no extra charge to members.
